The Public Grievance Cell of Barrackpore Police Commissionerate was established on 5th March 2021 at the office of the Commissioner of Police, Barrackpore, under the supervision of ACP (HQ).

The Public Grievance Cell acts as an important link between the public and the police administration, ensuring that grievances and complaints are addressed promptly, transparently, and effectively.

Functions of the Public Grievance Cell

• Assisting visitors who wish to meet the Commissioner of Police and other senior officers at Police Headquarters.
• Receiving and processing complaints addressed to the Commissioner of Police.
• Scrutinizing complaints and forwarding them to the concerned DCPs/ACPs for necessary enquiry and action.
• Monitoring the progress of complaints and collecting Action Taken Reports (ATR) from concerned units.
• Submitting enquiry reports and updates to higher authorities for further necessary action.
• Facilitating prompt redressal of public grievances in a professional and citizen-friendly manner.
